Anti-spam tactics

The easiest way to deal with spam is to just delete it... but just deleting it is like grabbing scissors to cut weeds so they stop. The roots are still there, so the weeds come back quickly. Just like spam. Deleting the spam topics and posts leave the spammer, like Pirate, free to spam again. Here is the most effective way to get rid of spam that I know of:
1. Lock the spam topic.
2. PM an admin and report the spammer, leaving the spam as evidence.
3. The admin bans the spammer, removes the spam, and all is well.

I got rid of that because it wouldn't block the way I wanted.
